Suprise family style engagement in San Antonio

Straughan Photography had the honor of shooting a beautiful proposal and engagement at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa! It is a perfect place to propose and doing it over the holidays made it even better. We are so excited to photograph this surprise engagement. Ridge had contacted me the week before and was really doing some good groundwork with his soon-to-be mother-in-law to make everything right for Jordan. This sweet couple was so happy and Jordan was so surprised. The whole family walked over to 18 Oaks, it is a nice restaurant at the resort, and Ridge and Jordan stopped at the wedding pavilion.
I loved seeing the happiness not only when Ridge proposed and then when the entire family showed up to congratulate them. After all the hugs from her mom and dad, we walked over to the wedding ballroom and Ridge had arranged for his entire family to be waiting for them. She was astounded!
When we finished all the family photos we started the engagement session of the day! That was so much fun! The grounds were beautiful and there were lots of Christmas decorations to shoot with. We even cuddled up by the fire for some cute and romantic photos! I am so grateful to have met them and am looking forward to their wedding!
