The presence of Straughan Photography was requested to photograph the fairest of Ladies & Lords at the Fairytale Wedding Celebration of Jennifer & Daniel on March 13th, 2010. This outdoor wedding took place at the majestic Castle Avalon, just a few miles north of San Antonio. Susan Chauret, the coordinator at the Castle, ran the show through the day right into the night.
This wedding was particularly fun to shoot with splashes of green and hints of the Celtic holiday, St. Patrick’s Day. The Irish theme and the pride the couple possessed for their heritage was apparent at the wedding and at the reception. The bride’s gown was edged with a beautiful clover shade of green, she looked like the queen of the day. The entire wedding party was draped in Renaissance attire. The photos we captured of the medieval bride & groom in front of the Castle could not have been more perfectly paired.
Oh and nothing says renaissance like a roasted pig and turkey legs at the reception buffet table accompanied by two beautiful cakes courtsey of the brides mother. The exotic fish in fishbowls added a certain depth to the centerpieces on the tables and every one got to take a fish home.
Toward the end of the reception, the bestman & matron of honor presented an engraved sword as a gift to the bride & groom; this truly was the finishing touchof the evening! Straughan Photography considers them blessed to have the opportunity to share in such a magical day with all of the family & guests.
Go maire tú an lá!; (Congratulations in Irish Gaelic) to Jennifer & Daniel!
