Candace & George's Wedding

Straughan Photography had the pleasure of working for Candace & George at their wedding on March 20th, 2010.

Although the afternoon was windy, the Garnet colored gowns worn by the bridesmaids, lent warmth to the day as did the sun shining through the cross-etched windows in the doors at the Historic, Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek.  Following the ceremony we were able to capture some of the first signs of spring with a backdrop of blooming wild flowers in some of the outdoor photos – a bonus of getting married in south Texas during spring.

Jeff Jung, Career Break Secrets, a relative of the couple, stepped in as the Wedding coordinator for the day. Jeff was our go-to person that enabled this wedding to go off without a hitch!  As a matter of fact, family was such a huge part of the day.  In San Antonio, we can always get good BBQ, however, we must admit that the BBQ dinner that the prepared by the Bride’s uncle was some of the best around! Lucy’s Cake Shop provided two phenomenal cakes to top off the meal!

The couple chose a Western theme for the day. The guys donning cowboy hats and the bridemaids wearing cowboy boots under their dresses.  Not only did the Bride’s boots look adorable but they kept her floating over the dance floor all evening.  All Around Sounds, the DJs for the evening, were still playing some good ol’ country music and guests were dancing when the couple left at midnight.

This couple is so obviously loved! We were sincerely overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from their family and friends.

Congratulations Candace and George!
