Katie and Cade are just easy to love. They’re sweet, laid-back, and clearly all about the people around them. They said their vows at The Marquardt Ranch out in the Texas Hill Country near Boerne, and the whole day had this warm, family feel to it, even with the cold weather rolling in.
Ceremony
It was cold. Like, really cold. So the ceremony got moved indoors, and Katie handled the change without missing a beat.
Turns out the indoor reception hall at The Marquardt Ranch made a gorgeous backup spot. There’s an 11-foot glass cross built into a rock wall in there, and it gave the whole room this soft glow that felt perfect for the moment.
One thing that made this ceremony stick with us was who was up front. Cade’s childhood best friend officiated, and you could feel how much history was behind every word he said. As a San Antonio wedding photographer, those are the moments we live for, when the person marrying the couple actually means something to them.
Reception
The reception was a blast. Katie and Cade danced all night with their favorite people around them, and the energy just kept going.
Honestly, The Marquardt Ranch made the whole thing easy on everyone. It’s a family-owned venue in the Hill Country, and they handle the catering, cake, decor, and flowers themselves. That kind of all-in-one setup takes a lot of pressure off a couple, and you could tell Katie and Cade were able to just relax and enjoy their day.
The night wrapped up the way you hope every wedding does. Katie and Cade ran out through a sparkler tunnel, grinning ear to ear as they headed into their next chapter. Katie’s David’s Bridal gown looked stunning, catching the sparkler light, and the whole send-off felt like pure joy.
