Elizabeth and Jose’s wedding day was full of style and heart from start to finish. They said their vows at San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio, then headed to The Veranda in nearby Castle Hills to celebrate. Honestly, the whole day just felt classic, faith-filled, and joyful.
Ceremony
Elizabeth and Jose exchanged their vows during a full Mass at San Fernando Cathedral. This place is special. Built in 1731, it’s the oldest standing church building in Texas, right in the heart of downtown San Antonio. What a place to start a marriage! Their faith is a big part of who they are, so this ceremony meant so much to them. You could feel it in the room. The historic cathedral gave the whole moment a sense of weight and beauty that felt just right.
These two also know how to make an entrance. Jose wore a cape, and Elizabeth wore a gorgeous veil cape to match. Such a stylish pair.
Reception
From there, everyone headed to The Veranda, a grand estate built in 1931 with Spanish and Tuscan style all over it. The oak lined lawns and warm architecture made for such a pretty backdrop. As a San Antonio wedding photographer, this is one of those venues we never get tired of shooting.
The reception was packed with family and friends, and the energy stayed high all night. Elizabeth and Jose kept a lot of the traditional touches while adding their own fun spins too. There was a photobooth keeping everyone laughing, plus a lively round of La Víbora de la Mar, the Mexican snake dance, and the always fun dollar dance.
To end the night, Elizabeth and Jose slipped away for a private last dance under the arch outside. Just the two of them, under the stars, closing out one of the best days of their lives. It was such a sweet way to wrap things up.
